The University of Michigan (U-M) privacy statement recognizes the value of privacy for the university community and its guests.
As the University’s privacy statement provides a broad overview of the handling of personal information when individuals are interacting with the University, this privacy notice provides more specific information on how MScreen software application collects and processes personal information.
Scope

The notice applies to the gathering and disseminating of information related to MScreen (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and provides an overview of our practices when collecting and processing your personal information.
Collection

We collect personal information in the following ways:
- Automatically by U-M, when you authenticate using your U-M Shibboleth identity for accessing MScreen.
- Automatically by our partner, InCommon Discovery Service or other third-party identity providers, contracted by us to authenticate and collect data

MScreen collects or has access to the following information from you with your use of MScreen:
- U-M uniqname
- U-M Friend account email
- Institutional identifier if your institution is part of the InCommon Federation
- Internet domain from which you access MScreen
- Name and IP address assigned to your device
- Type of device and browser you are using
- Date and time when you are using MScreen
- Amount of time spent, interactions, and content viewed in MScreen
Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information to any third parties.
Individually identifiable information may be shared as required by U-M or by law, including sharing with government agencies to aid in an investigation.
